D. Vincent Delorenzo

D. Vincent Delorenzo

D. Vincent Delorenzo is a U.S. Army veteran and the author of Sand and Silence and The Last Boat: Echoes After the War, the first two volumes in The Quiet Soldier Series. His upcoming literary war novel, Ashes in the Rain, continues his signature exploration of conflict, displacement, and the quiet moments that follow catastrophe.

Influenced by authors like Hemingway, Tim O’Brien, and Anthony Doerr, Delorenzo writes with a stripped-down, poetic voice that reflects both lived experience and deep emotional realism. His stories aren’t about battlefield heroics—they’re about memory, silence, and the weight of what we carry when no one’s watching.

When he’s not writing, Delorenzo finds peace in island life, distant shorelines, and the slow, meditative rhythm of boats, books, and solitude.
